Dartmoor Sponsored Walk 2009On the weekend of July 4/5th four of us at Exeter PSC organised the annual PSC sponsored walk to raise funds for PSC activities in the coming year. PSC members came from all over the country to take part, plus two people from the national office; as far apart as Glasgow and Hastings. There was great camaraderie and a chance to exchange views, stories and experiences with other Palestine activists, a very welcome opportunity.

We all stayed on Dartmoor at Bellever youth hostel which we had hired for our sole use. There were two groups of walkers heading out each day for 15 miles and 6 miles respectively. The walks were fantastic and Dartmoor didn't fail to charm. There were some challenges en route but we all rose to them and came home safely, tired but with a great sense of achievement.

Fabulous food was provided by the EPSC catering team  - a fully vegetarian Palestinian feast! We then exchanged stories and songs by the East Dart River by moonlight.

The main purpose of course was to raise funds and we certinaly did that. The EPSC walking team collected over £1200 for the national PSC coffers.More still to come. The total from all the participants is still being calculated.

If you haven't done this before please do consider joining the next walk in 2010 as it is a great way to meet fellow activists and have fun and exercise in beautiful parts of Britain as well as doing your bit for the cause. I can highly recommend it!

See you next year!
